Instruction

How to choose and mix a colour, and the conditions the powder and ink need in production and use.

Colour mix instruction

When selecting or mixing a colour, work through these points:

  1. Whether the requirement is environmentally friendly or not.
  2. Water-based or oil-based.
  3. The printed surface: glass surface and print method.
  4. The required level of acid and alkali resistance.
  5. Original colour, film thickness, firing temperature and screen mesh.
  6. It is best if the customer can choose from two to three colours we mix against the actual part.
  7. Comparison environment: keep samples indoors, out of direct sunlight; tilt the sample to 45° and swap positions when comparing.

Environment of production and use

  1. Temperature: 25 ± 2 ℃.
  2. Sealed and dust-free, with no suspended fibre.
  3. Humidity 60–70%. Above 80% the glaze is not smooth and may not print at all.
  4. Below 60% humidity, static electricity can build up.
  5. Keep away from fire.
  6. Avoid strong light and use promptly. Powder can be stored for a long time, but ink must be used as soon as it is mixed.

Send us your firing temperature, screen mesh and substrate with the enquiry, and we will confirm the mixing ratio and printing conditions for the grade.

Ask for mixing advice

Tell us the product, the application and the quantity, and we will reply by email. For a colour match, send a fired sample or the target reference.
